Easter Egg-stravaganza:  With a similar setup to the Christmas Fair the ‘Egg-stravaganza’   is set-up in the hall with a number of stalls:  Egg-tombola, lucky dip, arts & crafts, Easter egg raffle, Easter shop selling Easter-themed gifts, toys and spring plants etc. Children come into the hall throughout the day escorted by the Easter Bunny!

Summer Term

The Raleigh Ball: Time to dust off your glad rags, this is an extremely popular evening. Horsley Towers sees parents ‘suited and booted’ for a night of eating, drinking and dancing - a great way to socialise and raise money at the same time for the school.  The addition of an Auction of Promises added a further fundraising dimension & entertainment!

Cash in the Attic:  The children bring in items such as old mobile phones, jewellery, stamps, foreign and old coins, cables and old spectacles.  These are exchanged for points. Certificates are awarded based on these points with a prize given to each participant.  The aim is to help the children to think of others (some donations support charities), encourage the children to think about recycling, raise some money for the school and to have a bit of fun too.  Help is appreciated for collecting items, sorting them and getting them to the recycling organisations.

The Summer Fair: This is a fantastic day of family fun.  Lots of inflatables, rides, activities plus a BBQ, bar, silent auction, raffle, ice cream, a great selection of rides – the list is endless! There are a number of stalls/activities all manned by parent helpers.  Class Reps organise rotas for their allocated stall.  Not only do we need you to come along with your family and friends we also need your help to set-up gazebos for the stalls, support the team and help clear away.

Sports Day Refreshments: It’s an early start for sports day and parents need a coffee!  The FRIENDS OF THE RALEIGH provides a refreshment stall for both KS1 and KS2 events with hot & cold drinks, cakes, sweets, crisps and ice-pops. A good service and a money maker for the FRIENDS OF THE RALEIGH

TBA - Fireworks:  A family-friendly, professional display in the school grounds. It is a great night out with a BBQ, Bar, Sparklers, balloon modeller, flashing novelties and so much more. Tickets go on sale in October.

Autumn Term 2017

TBC - Family Photo Days: Jo Pittarides, a local photographer, offers family photo sessions during a weekend at school.  For a fee of £20, Jo photographs you and your family for approximately 30 minutes with stunning results.  Check out her web site at  Look out for details of the next sessions.

Christmas Fair: This event is purely for the children; they visit Father Christmas in his grotto and spend their pocket money on gifts for their family and friends, as well as doing a little 'personal shopping'! They love it.  There are a number of stalls; Jolly Jars, soft toy tombola, cakes and sweets, as well as presents for Mums & Dads, brothers, sisters and pets.  Our intention is not to raise loads of money but provide something special for the children. Class Reps organise a rota for their own class stall but help is always appreciated with setting-up, advance buying and clearing-up.

D.I.S.C.O!:  Children’s end of term disco split into KS1(Key Stage One – Reception, Yrs 1 & 2) and KS2 (Yrs 3 to 6) A bit of fun for the end of term with lots of refreshments available to buy.  Come along and enjoy a boogie!

Christmas Cards/Tea Towels: Each child in year groups 1-5 designs their own Christmas card in September, (they have quite long lead times!) The card displays the child’s artwork on the front and their name on the back.  Parents get the opportunity to order these in time for that all-important Christmas season.

For the tea towels, each child draws a picture of themselves and these are put on a year group tea-towel with their name. We organise the Tea Towels for reception and year 6 as a memento.
